Kaia Green, Recording Engineer and Producer
Kaia Green is a transgender artist local to Baltimore that can bring life to any mix or composition, both aural and visual. She is a recording engineer, producer, and writer for music and film. Her work often explores themes of identity, social justice, and the lived experiences of minority individuals. As a producer, she has received the 2025 Audience Award for a short film in the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival in New Mexico. As an engineer, she has recorded a number of independent artists across the country. Kaia’s current focus is in metalcore and hardcore, with proficiency in a number of other rock and electronic genres.
Kaia has a strong background as a performer. She plays shows as her hyperpop persona Baltimore Brat, captivating audiences with her movement and crunchy vocals. Further back, Kaia was mainly a rock and metal performer, playing Maryland venues including Merriweather Post Pavillion with the bands Glass Cages and Copyright Infringement from 2022 to 2024.
Kaia is working on writing and recording a number of projects, including a metalcore album with her band Gynophobia, focused on social justice and gender. She recently produced a single under Baltimore Brat titled “BACK4MORE” in late 2024, following the EP “NOT MY FACE” which was released earlier that year. She has also recorded dozens of concerts and recitals at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins.
Kaia is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree as a double major in Recording Arts and Sciences and Computer Music at the Peabody Institute, where she is a Dean’s List student. She is also working towards a Computer Science minor at Johns Hopkins. She is expected to graduate in 2028. Kaia graduated from Marriotts Ridge High School in 2024 at the top of her class.
